National Championship and Sugar Bowl Case Study

Introduction:

Fancards was founded in 2015 as a prepaid financial tech company specializing in collegiately licensed gift and reloadable cards for fans. Introduction:

Fancards was founded in 2015 as a prepaid financial tech company specializing in collegiately licensed gift and reloadable cards for fans. The company grew its product line and had serviced college football bowl games for player gifts for years, but the College Football Playoff and Sugar Bowl needed a slightly different solution to accommodate concessions payments for players’ guests at their events.

Challenge:

Both the CFP and Sugar Bowl were looking to modernize the way they provided concession stand vouchers for players’ guests to improve the guest experience and keep the lines moving efficiently.
The payment method needed to be up to NCAA compliant specifications, and limited to specific merchant codes and transaction types within each respective Stadium.

Solution:

Fancards quickly produced a custom-branded Incentive card for the College Football Playoff and Sugar Bowl that provided control, security and compliance with NCAA bylaws.

Results and Impact:

Nearly 3,000 guests accepted and used their card to purchase concessions on Gameday, with no issues reported.
The cards helped keep the concession lines flowing by having a seamless payment system in place.
